mike_collins82 Posted 12/01/2025 Share Posted 12/01/2025 So I've now bought 3 vehicles from AMB Groups over the past 18 months and figured I'd share my experience for anyone on the fence. First was a 2018 Chevy Silverado, then a 2020 Toyota Camry for my daughter, and just last month a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. All three transactions went smoothly, got clear titles with each vehicle, prices were fair for repo auctions. The website ambgroups.com makes the whole bidding process pretty transparent. Happy to answer questions if anyone's curious about the process.
TracyM Posted 12/01/2025 Share Posted 12/01/2025 Thats impressive that you came back twice more after the first purchase. That says a lot imo. I'm looking at a Honda Accord on their site right now but nervous about pulling the trigger. Did you inspect the vehicles in person before bidding or just go off the photos? mike_collins82 Posted 12/01/2025 Share Posted 12/01/2025 For the Silverado I drove out to see it in person since it was my first time. The other two I just used the photos and condition reports on ambgroups.com. They're pretty detailed with the listings, and honestly the vehicles matched the descriptions when they arrived. I wouldn't keep going back if they were shady lol
JordanK_Automotive Posted 13/01/2025 Share Posted 13/01/2025 I can back this up. I'm a mechanic and inspected a vehicle my neighbor bought from AMB Groups last year. A 2017 Ford Escape. The condition was exactly as described in their listing. No hidden issues, no surprises. That's pretty rare with online auctions tbh.
SarahP_2024 Posted 13/01/2025 Share Posted 13/01/2025 Did you have any issues at all with any of the three purchases? Not trying to be negative just want to know the full picture before I bid on something.
mike_collins82 Posted 13/01/2025 Share Posted 13/01/2025 Fair question. The Camry title took about 5 days longer than expected to arrive. I reached out to office@ambgroups.com and they explained there was a delay with the lienholder releasing it. Once it cleared everything came through fine. That was the only hiccup across all three deals. The Silverado and Jeep titles both arrived with the vehicles during delivery no problem.
rj_denver Posted 13/01/2025 Share Posted 13/01/2025 5 days isn't bad at all considering banks can be slow with repo paperwork. I had a similar situation buying from a different auction once and it took 3 weeks. Glad AMB Groups stayed on top of it for you.
Lisa_M Posted 13/01/2025 Share Posted 13/01/2025 I bought a 2019 Nissan Rogue from them in October and had zero issues. The clear title arrived exactly when they said it would, tucked in with all the delivery paperwork. The whole process from winning the bid to getting the car took less than two weeks. Really smooth experience.
TracyM Posted 14/01/2025 Share Posted 14/01/2025 Ok this is making me feel better about it. I think I'm going to place a bid on that Accord. Did you guys arrange your own transport or did AMB Groups handle delivery?
mike_collins82 Posted 14/01/2025 Share Posted 14/01/2025 They have delivery options you can add during checkout. I used their transport service for the Camry and Jeep. Both arrived on the scheduled day. For the Silverado I picked it up myself since I wanted to see their facility anyway.
DaveR55 Posted 14/01/2025 Share Posted 14/01/2025 The consistency is what matters most to me. Anyone can have one good experience, but three successful purchases shows they're running a legitimate operation. I've bought two vehicles from ambgroups myself and would definitely go back for a third.
kyle_mitchell Posted 14/01/2025 Share Posted 14/01/2025 What kind of savings are we talking compared to regular dealer prices? I'm seeing some listings that look almost too good to be true.
mike_collins82 Posted 15/01/2025 Share Posted 15/01/2025 The Jeep Wrangler was probably 4-5k below typical dealer pricing for similar mileage and condition. Keep in mind these are repo vehicles so they're priced to move. The savings are real but you still need to do your homework on each vehicle. Check the VIN history, review the condition report on ambgroups.com, and set a realistic max bid.
maria_lopez_tx Posted 15/01/2025 Share Posted 15/01/2025 I won a 2020 Mazda CX-5 from them in December. Best part was not having to chase down the title like I've heard happens with some auctions. Everything was handled by AMB Groups and the clear title arrived perfectly with my vehicle. Super professional.
BrentH Posted 15/01/2025 Share Posted 15/01/2025 How's the customer service if you need to reach them? I like to know I can get someone on the phone if something comes up.
mike_collins82 Posted 15/01/2025 Share Posted 15/01/2025 I've called them a few times and emailed office@ambgroups.com once during that title delay I mentioned. Response time is usually same day. The staff knows their stuff and doesn't give you the runaround. They're not as big as some of the national auction sites so you actually get personalized service. JeffT_Ohio Posted 16/01/2025 Share Posted 16/01/2025 Three successful purchases is a solid track record. I'm on my second vehicle from AMB Groups (2018 Ram 1500 and 2021 Subaru Outback). Both times the bidding process was straightforward, no surprises with fees, and titles came through clean. Planning to check their inventory again next month. amanda_k Posted 16/01/2025 Share Posted 16/01/2025 This thread is really helpful. I was skeptical about repo auctions in general but it sounds like ambgroups runs a tight ship. Going to create an account and start watching some listings.
Chris_Peterson Posted 16/01/2025 Share Posted 16/01/2025 The fact that you bought THREE vehicles tells me everything I need to know. Nobody goes back twice more if they got burned the first time. Thanks for sharing your experience with AMB Groups.
TracyM Posted 16/01/2025 Share Posted 16/01/2025 Update: I placed my bid on the Accord and won! Feeling pretty good about it after reading all these experiences. I'll report back once the car arrives and I see how the whole process goes.
mike_collins82 Posted 16/01/2025 Share Posted 16/01/2025 Congrats TracyM! You made a good choice with the Accord, those hold their value well. Keep us posted on how it goes. I'm sure you'll have a smooth experience like most of us here.
