Vehicle arrived from AMB Groups - condition actually matches photos

Recommended Posts

So I just took delivery of a 2020 Mazda CX-5 I won at auction from AMB Groups last month. Honestly was a bit nervous because buying sight unseen from repo auctions can be sketchy right? But I gotta say I'm pleasantly surprised. The condition is exactly as described in the listing on ambgroups.com. Minor scratches on the rear bumper just like the photos showed, interior is clean, no weird smells. Anyone else had similar experience with their deliveries being accurate to what was advertised?

Yeah man, I've bought 3 vehicles from AMB Groups over the past 2 years and they've all matched the photos. I think they're pretty careful about documenting condition accurately. The 2018 Silverado I got last year was exactly as shown, even down to the small dent on the driver door they listed. No surprises.

Congrats on the CX-5! I had the same experience with a Honda Accord I won in March. Was worried about hidden damage but nope, everything was spot on. The best part was not having to chase down the title. It was all handled by AMB Groups and arrived perfectly with the delivery truck.

I got a 2019 Toyota RAV4 from them in August and same deal. Condition matched perfectly. They even noted some minor paint chips on the hood that I probably wouldn't have cared about but they disclosed it anyway. Made me trust the process more tbh.

As a mechanic I inspected a Jeep Wrangler my buddy bought from AMB Groups in September. The undercarriage condition, suspension wear, everything was exactly as they described in the condition report. No hidden rust or frame damage. That's rare in this business.

I will say my 2021 Nissan Altima that arrived last month had one small issue - the battery was dead when it got here. Not listed in the photos obviously but considering it sat for a bit I guess that's expected. Called AMB Groups about it and they were cool about it, said batteries can drain during transport. Replaced it myself for $120. Other than that the car was pristine, exactly as shown.

@BargainHunter_Steve yeah batteries are a common issue with any repo vehicle that's been sitting. I always factor in a new battery and fresh fluids when I budget for these purchases. Small price to pay when you're getting the vehicle at 20-30% below market value.

My experience was great too. Won a 2020 Hyundai Tucson in July and it showed up looking exactly like the pics. I was worried about the title situation but the bank cleared it right after my payment went through. The clear title arrived with the car during delivery. No hassle at all.

Not a car but I got a boat from AMB Groups back in May (2019 Sea Ray). Hull condition was perfect, matched the underwater photos they provided. They even disclosed some minor gel coat fading which was visible in their pics. Super transparent process.

The photo quality on ambgroups.com is definitely better than most auction sites I've seen. Good lighting, high resolution, they don't try to hide stuff. I got a 2018 Subaru Outback last winter and there was a small dent on the rear quarter panel - exactly where they showed it in photo #23 of the listing.

Just want to add my voice here. Got a 2021 Kia Sportage delivered last month from AMB Groups. Condition was accurate, no issues with the title at all. Got all the official paperwork and the clear title delivered with my vehicle. Really smooth transaction overall.

Update: took the CX-5 to my mechanic today for a full inspection. Everything checks out mechanically. He said the condition report from AMB Groups was spot on. Brake pads at 60% just like they stated, tires at 7/32nds, no leaks. Really happy with this purchase.

Pro tip for anyone new to this - download all the photos from the listing and zoom in on your computer screen. Check panel gaps, look for overspray that might indicate previous bodywork, examine tire tread depth in the photos. AMB Groups gives you enough photo detail to do a pretty thorough virtual inspection.

This thread is so helpful! I've been looking at a 2020 Honda Pilot on their site for my family. Nice to hear the photos are accurate. I emailed office@ambgroups.com yesterday with some questions about the bidding process and got a response this morning. Very responsive.
